She married Joseph Alt, son of Karl Franz Alt and Cacilia Turk, on 27 April 1885 at District # 41 schoolhouse, Alexis Township 6 miles west of Bellwood, Nebraska; with Fr. Boniface officiating. The land for St. Joseph's Church was given by Caroline Zweiner's father. Caroline Zwiener died on 26 April 1941 at age 79.2 She was buried after 26 April 1941 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Shelby, Nebraska.2
