     Karl Mehrberger was born on 16 March 1834 at # 28, Girsig, Austro Hungarian Empire.1 He was baptized by Franz Jahn, priest. His Godparents were Theresia Neumann, Franz Winkler.1 He married Anna Muller, daughter of Alois Muller and Klara Klein, on 6 November 1855 at # 28, Austro Hungarian Empire.1,2 Karl Mehrberger married Franciska Till, daughter of Joseph Till and Lena Schungel, on 26 July 1877 at Columbus Catholic Church, Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska.3 Karl Mehrberger died on 19 June 1906 at Lost Creek Township, Platte County, Nebraska, at age 72.4,5 The funeral of Carl Mayberger, of Oconee occurred at the Catholic Church in this city last wednesday. Mr. Mayberger died Tuesday and was seventy-three years old. He came to this county in 1866 and was well know by all the older settlers. He has been in failing health for a long time. Mr. Mayberger was the father of twelve children, ten of whom are living. Besides his children he leaves a wife.6
     He was also known as Carl Mayberger. He was also known as Charles Mayberger. He was a Gartler on 16 November 1860.7 He immigrated in 1868 to Nebraska. Carl Mehrberger, his wife Anna and their seven children departed in January 1868 from Hamburg, Germany, on the steamship Westphalia for the United States.8 His name was legally changed to Mayberger.9 He resided on 1869 at Oconee, Platte County, Nebraska.10 He emigrated in 1869 from Hamburg, Havre, Germany.9 He immigrated on 11 August 1869 to New York, New York.9 He filed his declaration of intent to become a naturalized citizen of the United States on 31 August 1869 at District Court, Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska.11 He was naturalized on 27 December 1875 at District Court of Platte County, Platte County, Nebraska.12 On 2 October 1876 at Platte County, Nebraska, Karl and Anna Muller Mehrberger's daughter, May, age 20, marries Walter Martin, age 27, in Platte County. Presiding over the wedding was J.M. Ryan, Pastor. Walter is the son of Walter Martin. His mother is not indicated in the record.3 He was fully naturalized on 24 November 1876 at Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska.12 In June 1880 at Platte County, Nebraska, the US Census lists "Mayberger, Carl, white, male," age 48, a farmer, born in Austria. The Census lists both of his parents as having been born in Austria. Living with Carl is his wife, Frances, a white, female, age 32, whose occupation is listed as "Keeping House." She was born in Austria, as were both of her parents. Also living with Carl is Julia, his daughter, age 16, his sons, Edward, age 13, and John, age 11, and his daughters Rose, age 9, and Lena, age 1. Mary, who is listed as Carl's step daughter, is also living with the family. Mary was born in Austria, as were both of her parents. He was land transactor on 20 October 1880 at Platte County, Nebraska.13 He was land transactor on 3 May 1881 at Platte County, Nebraska.13 He was land transactor on 13 May 1882 at Platte County, Nebraska.13 Living with Carl and his wife Frances were Lena age 20, Minnie age 18 and Charles age 13.14

     She was also known as Tiehl.6 She was also known as Thille. Her married name was Mayberger. All of us children and also my grand children were baptised in it.9

     John Henry Mayberger was born on 25 August 1868 at # 28, Girsig, Austro Hungarian Empire.1,2,3 He married Amelia Arlt, daughter of Conrad Arlt and Fredericka Reider, on 4 February 1902 at St. Francis Church, Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.4,5 John Henry Mayberger died on 19 December 1949 at Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska, at age 81.6,5 He was buried on 22 December 1949 at St. Francis Cemetery, Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.6
     He was also known as Johann.1 Circa 1900 he worked as a rural mail carrier and was also employed on the Union Pacific Railroad. Coming to Humphrey he opened a bicycle and repair shop. This business was located on the lot a block west of the Duesman Furniture store. He later engaged in the painting and paperhanging business and also conducted a watch repair business. He also repaired windmills before he conducted a plumbing and heating business.7 John was a plumber and also installed windmills. He was caledl an Aeromaster. The windmills were used to pump water from the ground. at Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.8 He resided circa 1915 at Granville Township, Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.9 He resided before 1 April 1949 at Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.10 He was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and St. Joseph's Men's Society. in December 1949 at Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.7 All business houses were closed during the hour of the funeral services. Many old friends and neighbors were in attendance to offer their prayers with those of the priest for the repose of his soul on 22 December 1949 at Humphrey, Platte County, Nebraska.

     She was also known as May Mehrberger. She was also known as Maria.3 Her married name was Walter. She and Martin Walter homesteaded in 1882 at 8 miles west, Clearwater, Holt County, Nebraska.8 Grandma Walter was the midwife for new mothers and babies. after 1882 at Deloit Township, Clearwater, Antelope County, Nebraska.1 Mary M Mayberger was educated after 1882 at Pleasant Hill School # 131, Clearwater, Antelope County, Nebraska, It was located 1/2 mile north of their home.1 The Walter family went to Ewing to St. Peter's church until St. John's Catholic Church was established in 1910, a mission of the Ewing church. Father Joseph Rose was the first priest. St. John's church is located ten miles south and one mile east of Ewing on a slope of land along the Clearwater Creek, two miles south of the Walter home.1 She and William Martin Walter celebrated on 2 October 1926 at Clearwater, Antelope County, Nebraska. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on October 2, 1931 with all 12 children and their families present. At that time they had 35 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.1 Martin and Mary observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary, with fourteen of their fifteen children present for the occasion in 1931 at Ewing, Holt County, Nebraska.7
