     He graduated in 1925 from St. Anthony's Catholic High School, Cedar Rapids, Boone County, Nebraska.3,8 After graduating from radio and electronics school, Louis was in the Merchants Marines and held jobs as radio operator on the ships on the Great Lakes. After his father passed away, he came back to take over the management of his father's hardware store.3 After 1925 Louis Robert Rupprecht attended at Radio and Electronis School, Valapraiso, Porter County, Indiana. He resided on 25 February 1937 at Cedar Rapids, Boone County, Nebraska.1 He won first prize for the best decorated window in a state-wide contest in December 1939 at Rupprecht Hardware & Furniture, Cedar Rapids, Boone County, Nebraska.9 Louis bought his father's hardware store from the family and he was owner and operator until about 1981. He sold the store to James and Rose Jarosz.3 In 1956 the Tiny Termites 4-H Club was organized and led by Louis Rupprecht. This was a wood working club.10 Louis had hobbies of woodworking, gardening and lawn care. He like being called upon to fix almost everything electric. This earned him the title of "Mr. Fix It".3
