She married Emil William Alt, son of Herman Alt and Monica Selzer, on 7 January 1919 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, north of Osceola, Nebraska; Rev. A. Wagner officiated at the ceremony. Fritz Alt and Rosie Alt were witnesses. Mary loved to grow plants, both outside and inside of the house after 7 January 1919. Mary Ann Bernt resided after 7 January 1919 on a farm one mile east of St. Andrew's Church, north of Osceola, Nebraska; Mary grew up on a farm 1 miled east of the second location of St. Andrew's Church north of Osceola, NE. The farm was located on the north side of the road. She was a housewife after 7 January 1919. She died on 7 January 1959 at David City, Nebraska, at age 62.2 She was buried after 7 January 1959 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Shelby, Nebraska.
